The Lasallian Region of Africa is a coordinating and collaboration body of the Institute of Brothers of Christian Schools in Africa and Madagascar. To this end, RELAF gathers all provinces (Districts) and the Delegation of the Institute present across the African continent.

Dedicated to education and formation of young people, the Brothers of the Christian Schools is now present in 20 African countries (South Africa, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Congo Kinshasa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Guinea Conakry, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo).

In addition, this website also offers you information about the Institute of Brothers of Christian Schools as well as our different schools and universities, recent news and information about the various Districts and the Delegation in the Region.

Feast of Saint John Baptist de la Salle in Rwanda

As it has been in our traditions on May 15, the Lasallians celebrate Saint John Baptist De La Salle, heavenly Patron of all Christian educators. It is very significant for Lasallians and even for anyone who has had the chance to attend Lasallian Schools. This year’s celebration was special because a spiritual preparation of students embellished preparations for the event. The theme of the year: “LASALLIANS SOWERS OF JOY” was the theme shared during four days before the actual celebration. To make the sharing of the theme fruitful, we identified four sub-themes for four days. On the eve of May 15, the students of both schools organized a social evening during which the dances, poems, plays etc were performed. » Read more

Nairobi: CTIE Graduation Ceremony

At Saturday’s graduation, fourteen graduates received a diploma, jointly offered from Tangaza University College and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, while nineteen received a B.A. from Saint Mary’s. It was a beautiful celebration, beginning with an inspiring liturgy  then followed by a well-organized, lively commencement ceremony.

Sector of Nigeria: Final Vows of Brother Lucky Maria

Call it coincidence, chance or even marriage of events, the Lasallian spirit calls it Divine Providence. The final profession of Vows ceremony of Br Lucky Maria Oseghale on the 17th January 2015 came exactly 50 years after the final profession of the first Nigerian De La Salle Brother (though not same month).The Canadian Missionary Brothers came to Nigeria around 1956 and in 1965 Br Uba Anslem was finally professed in the same Ondo Diocese where Brother Lucky Maria was professed. » Read more
