The collecting of the general Superior’s passport at Chad Embassy delayed our departure from Yaoundé to Lomié. We got to face the 275 km that separates the two cities at 11: 00 am. Half of the journey is done on a forest track and we met frequently logging trucks heavily loaded. One of these behemoths that was overthrown and blocking the passage forced us to stop for a long time in the heart of the forest. A forest track, made even more dangerous by the rain, always has a few surprises for the most careful driver. That is why the visitor, Br Blaise, despite his dexterity with the steering wheel, could not spare us some violent shaking. When the night fell, driving became even more difficult. Le Supérieur général a participé à la messe de 6h 15 dans la basilique de Yaoundé. A la sortie de la messe, moment de joie et de retrouvailles pour l’un, occasion de faire connaissance pour le Supérieur général avec Sœur Chantal, petite sœur du Conseiller général, membre de la congrégation des Sœurs dominicaines de la Présentation en service à Yaoundé. Cette matinée du lundi a été consacrée aux formalités administratives pour l’obtention d’un visa d’entrée au Tchad pour le Supérieur général et également pour l’économe du District, Fr Marek. » Read more

The general Superior participated in the 6: 15 am mass in the Basilica of Yaoundé. After mass, there was moment of joy and reunion for some and opportunity for the general Superior to meet Sister Chantal, younger sister of the general Councillor and member of the congregation of the Dominican Sisters of the Presentation in mission in Yaoundé. This Monday morning was devoted to administrative formalities to obtain an entry visa in Chad for the general Superior and also for the District bursar, Brother Marek. » Read more

The general Superior participated this Saturday 29 October in the District Council which was held in the Library of La Salle College in Douala. Six Brothers make up this Council with the responsibility to assist and accompany the Brother Visitor in his duties as a facilitator of the District of Central Africa comprising of Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad. Several important points were in the agenda of this Council: adoption of communities’ annual programmes, re-opening reports of educational works and New Communities, Report of the Economic Council and the adoption of the 2016 -2017 budget, preparation of the perpetual profession of Brother Débasco, District Chapter, District retreat… » Read more
