Africa Day commemorates the founding of the Organization of African Unity (now known as the African Union) on this day, 25 May, in 1963. It aims to celebrate African unity. Each year the Day has a different theme. Today May 26, De La Salle Holy Cross College in Johannesburg – South Africa celebrated Africa Day at school and importantly in assembly… Students were encouraged to wear traditional attire(See photo). Abidjan: Founder’s Day Celebration at Akwaba Center

On Monday 16th May, the Brothers’ Community of Akwaba Center in Abidjan invited the Brothers’ families and the Brothers of the three other communities. This was an invitation for the Founder’s Day celebration, which this year coincided with the Feast of Pentecost. Note that Akwaba Center, a work that belongs to the District of the Gulf of Benin, has always considered the celebration with the Brothers’ families as a tradition since ten years. » Read more

Antananarivo: Pilgrimage to Manantenasoa

On Sunday, May 1st, Labor Day, we Lasallians of Antananarivo went for pilgrimage to the grotto of the Holy Family, in Manantenasoa (which literally means ‘Good Hope’), a village founded by a Lazarist Priest, Father Pedro OPEKA for unprivileged families, 15 km away fro Frenchm the city center. More than 200 people: Brothers, Sisters, Teachers and students of Lasallian schools including those of Centre Social de Promotion Féminine of Anosibe held by the Signum Fidei, those of De La Salle Infocentre Institute, Postulants of De La Salle Brothers and those of the Guadalupana De La Salle Sisters took part in this pilgrimage. Brother Mamy Rabarone, Visitor of the District and the Delegate of the Guadalupana Sisters accompanied by a good number of Sisters were also present. » Read more
